Until this page, I never really sought to make money from this endeavor. In fact, I used to give away prints to people whom I thought really appreciated them. Now I have precious few prints of these photos, most of which are on paper that is no longer manufactured, and I don't think I will be making any more.
Both the world and myself have gone digital, so I’m trying to figure out how to create some relatively inexpensive (around $50) digital prints of a high enough quality to be worthy of these photos. When I do I will offer them here, so check back.
In the meanwhile, I do have three extra prints of the Kells, Ireland photo which I would sell for $400 each. They are on 11x14 Kodak Ektalure chlorobromide paper (no longer available). If interested in this or anything related, please email me.
Books
Caspar David Friedrich
A wonderful and comprehensive study of the sublime romantic painter, who is probably the biggest influence on the photos here.
Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier
A Victorian drama that takes place in and around London?s Highgate Cemetery. Also the author of the Girl with the Pearl Earring, Chevalier writes with rich historical detail and subtly nuanced characters.
Ghosts in Photographs: The Extraordinary Story of Spirit Photography
Although most are obvious double exposures to our contemporary eyes, many of these photos posses an extraordinarily poignant aesthetic quality.
Highgate Cemetery: Victorian Valhalla
Beautiful photos of this famous London cemetery. I?m envious, as I was only there once with a point and shoot and couldn?t leave the trail.
The Haunted Realm: Echoes from Beyond the Tomb
Not necessarily cemeteries, but beautiful atmospheric photos from photographer Simon Marsden, who brings a bit of the supernatural to all his work.
